SITE-SPECIFIC WORK - LAND ART - CONCEPTUAL ART
PLACE: SCHINIAS BEACH , ATHENS
References Artists: Andy Goldworthy , Robert Smithson
Sometimes it takes a lot of TIME, in order to understand the real reason you have this internal need as an artist to create something specific.
Through this project in progress, I understood that connecting to nature is not simply a matter of getting some fresh air. I truly believe, that it is a matter of thinking again our individuality and personality. Working with nature can also help us to understand our human and ecological part of existence. A possible inspiration from a true connection with nature can bring alterations to the point where it changes who we are.
Time, change and individual experiences are important elements of my project. Time and change are connected to the place, which is something that it could be characterized as site specific. This beach was, and still is, a great teacher for me, about art making.
