Artist's Statement:
I think of my installations and my performances as an inventory of fragments, which is always in progress.Gifs, objects, drawings, paintings, photographs, videos, my websites and pages are connected with time and space. They are sites in which the constructed, the ready-made and Internet are used to question our visual world. My recent projects are focused in the field of critical social and digital media research. I produce art about one subject or another, but usually my work tends to focus on movement and the evolution of man in time and space. All the digital phenomena that make up the world of digital media are subjects of my critical digital and social media research.. Some of my subject matter is about people's daily routines and a comment on human nature. My influences are usually everything I see, feel and experience, but I've always loved particularly work by Peter Doig and Douglas Gordon and Jackson Pollock. The artists I most admire are Andy Warhol and Marcel Duchamp.
BIO
Born in 1990 in Athens, Greece, Eleni Chamou is an emerging artist, who sees herself as an expressionist visual e-artist and social choreographer. Her B.A. in Visual Arts was received from Frances Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts, DEREE, The American College of Greece. Subsequent to that she attended dance classes in Dance Action Anna Polyzou's Dance Studio, where she received two Professional achievements in Dance Smooth DVIDA Bronze and Rhythm DVIDA Bronze with High Honors. She has presented her work in many exhibitions and festivals in Portugal, Italy, Argentina, and Greece.
